three out of four human Runewald members have been stricken by the creeping lurgy, so this week has been a parade of peppermint tea, homemade chicken soup and the Venture Brothers marathon. the garden is making up for all of our sickness-induced laziness - the potatoes alone have grown nearly three feet in height this week. hopefully next week we can rally enough to complete the chicken coop and start working on the run.

a little bit of hard work paid off, so I get to dedicate today to the Temple. It’s very nearly complete. I have to start by scrubbing my too-much-hair first in a bathtub full of peppermint, rosemary and sage.

on the community front, I put our house up on CouchSurfing.com (under the name HouseInAGreenPlace). I doubt we’ll get many visitors because Brasstown is not exactly on route to anywhere important. I wish we could get some short term visitors to help us with the building of the coop and the garden preparation, but I couldn’t sign up for WWOOFing because we don’t have anything growing yet (apparently the indoor garden doesn’t count). The landlady even agreed to let us have goats now, but it’s probably not going to happen until late this year or the beginning of next year.
